What we do

We offer recreational cricket clubs throughout Great Britain a wide range of FREE support services, examples of which include:
    1.     Commencing 2011, the phased introduction of a series of new, innovative, high-media-profile, sponsored, local, regional, and national cricket events, competitions and tournaments that have been specifically formulated to raise community awareness, interest and participation in local cricket clubs at all levels and stimulate their recruitment of younger players;

    2.     Introductions to pre-vetted opportunities for local recreational cricket clubs to create additional 'no-risk' income/revenue streams - requiring no 'up-front' payments or capital outlay - from relevant OSCL-endorsed, commercial joint-venture partnership* e.g. Be-Active's ClubStore (click on red button for preview);
    (*In this context, the definition of a 'commercial joint-venture partner' (JVP) is a private individual, private limited company, PLC, or other commercial, corporate, sponsor or affinity-marketing organisation whose contractual alliance with the OSCL or the club provides either: (a) event sponsorship; (b) commission income; (c) financial savings and/or benefits in kind (e.g. lower annual insurance premiums for more comprehensive cover); or, (d) a combination of all three).

    3.     Introductions to a comprehensive range of OSCL-recommended customised affinity insurance protection policies for individual cricket clubs, teams, leagues, players, officers and officials (e.g. covering pavilions/club-houses, ground equipment; playing equipment and kit; Public Liability, Personal Accident, Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability; Directors & Officers cover; Events; Tours; CRB violations etc;

    4.     Pro-active practical help and support in the provision of development facilities and increased local, regional and national participation in cricket by girls and women; blind/partially-sighted; deaf/hearing impaired, and other players and officials with CC1, CC2 and CC3 category disabilities;

    5.     Sourcing and securing special procurement discounts for the supply, delivery and installation of ground maintenance equipment and materials; complete fire protection and security systems; cricket ground equipment including sight-screens, covers, score-boxes; practice nets; pavilion/club-house bar furniture, equipment and supplies; shower units, etc - including, for example:

    • Owner: D Burns identifying, sourcing and negotiating the availability of essential new, second-hand, or refurbished ground maintenance equipment (e.g. mowers, rollers, scarifiers, water misers etc) either on loan; at special low hire rates; or to purchase or for barter on a 'caveat-emptor -buyer-collects' basis.

    • arranging for two club volunteers to attend either a FREE, long-weekend, Course in basic groundsmanship; or commercially-sponsored, formal Courses leading to recognised qualifications in groundsmanship;

    • Owner: DBurns identifying, sourcing and negotiating the acquisition of essential new, second-hand, redundant, or surplus ground (playing) equipment (e.g. sight-screens, covers, practice nets etc., from clubs that are folding or merging);

    • Owner: D Jonesidentifying, sourcing and negotiating the special-low-rate hire or purchase of appropriately-sized, secure, 'Portakabin' style on-site temporary changing rooms and/or storage facility for both the ground maintenance and ground (playing) equipment;
